A unique piece of history encompasses this corner of Jo Daviess County. The “GENERAL STORE” currently operates as a bar where you walk-in the front door and step back in time. The General Store was a station along the railroad and was the center of the former village. A self-serve system makes this place a classic. More recently a full-service bar has been added to both the General Store and the barn. The barn has a stage area and hosts a variety of musicians with a collection of eclectic seating in which to enjoy it from. The setting has been used for weddings with the lush background as the backdrop for ceremonies and the barn as a reception hall. An 1856 Wooden Mill rock building is in the process of being renovated and has a great history. The east fork of Galena river weaves through the property and makes for great fishing. The property is a hot-spot amongst tourists and locals alike. Whether by car, motorcycle or bicycle-the place is a popular stopping point in Jo Daviess County.
